Hpqcxs08

Couple of people have emailed me asking:

What is this hpqcxs08 service? What does it do and what would happen if I disabled it?

The service named hpqcxs08 is used by HP Software Products to detect and or communicate with a HP printer device. The hpqcxs08 service path is = C:Windowssystem32svchost.exe -k hpdevmgmt

When Disabled the Hp Solution center will not detect the HP printer when it’s connected.
When Enabled the HP Solution Center can read how much ink and can communicate with the printer

Best description for hpqcxs08 – it is a HP Communication Service

  1. This is good info, but I really want to know how to uninstall ALL HP printer software and changes made to my system.
I’ve been working on it for several weeks. I cannot remove the last couple of pieces. Simply cannot get them off. I can (and did) disable, but I want them gone.

  2. HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Services
    HP Network Devices Support
    hpqcxs08

Files are in Run: services.msc, “Sevices” dialogue box, but nowhere else. Nowhere. Control panel, Add/Remove programs, Start menu, etc.
I paid for HP’s customer support, which did remove stuff, but still have residual issues.
